Personal Donkey Experiences

Taking place on our Queen Creek property, personal experiences are great for small groups, families, and children. Lead a donkey through our obstacle course, go on a leisurely walk through our beautiful neighborhood, pose for pictures, brush, pet, or cuddle the donkeys; or just chill out and learn more about donkeys from our resident donkey nerd/owner. Experiences are $50/hour for up to five guests. For larger groups of more than five, we charge an additional $10/person. Personal experiences can be scheduled nearly any time, 7 days/week, with the exception of summer months (June-September), where we schedule only mornings and/or evenings, as our Arizona temperatures are quite brutal on summer afternoons. Call, e-mail, or message us on Facebook to schedule your personal donkey experience.

Hiking with Donkeys

Taking place in Queen Creek or Apache Junction from October through May, our hikes are approximately 2 to 2.5 miles long on relatively flat terrain and groomed trails. Hiking sessions usually last about an hour and a half and include a safety briefing, photo-taking opportunities, and a chance to enjoy nature at a donkey’s pace. Please note, this is hiking with the donkeys on lead-line. Riding on the donkeys is not permitted, however, they do have pack-saddles and are happy to carry your water, sunscreen, or other small items.

We offer group hikes and private hikes that range from $50-$60 per donkey (each donkey can be walked by up to two people) depending on location. Contact us today to schedule a hike or reach out on Facebook.

Private Events

Make your party, birthday, or corporate event even more memorable by having a donkey helping with much of the entertaining. Our donkeys will be the life of your party and are sure to be the center of attention. We even have a donkey kissing booth that is great for photo-ops. Due to the breadth of possibilities, please contact us for pricing and to discuss your needs.

Donkey Training

Alyssa started training donkeys several years ago, after decades spent training horses and dogs. She absolutely adores donkeys, and truly appreciates their unique, intelligent, and sometimes challenging personalities. She has found clicker training to be instrumental in building a strong relationship with donkeys. Alyssa uses both positive (clicker training) and negative reinforcement (pressure and release) in training, and finds a combination of both tends to work successfully. Alyssa has trained a multitude of donkeys (both wild and domestic) of all ages and sizes to do everything from politely picking up their feet, trailer loading, to competing in burro races and everything in between. Donkeys need time to build trust, and once they trust you, training becomes easy and so much fun for both the human and the donkey! Alyssa has plenty of references available, so please reach out if you have a donkey in need of some education.
